Rains in Karachi

Rains in Karachi as all must be aware are quite rare. No its not a desert but it isn't as frequent as it may be in other parts of the country. At one side when the people in Karachi get extremely excited, running to the roofs and those "pakoras" steaming hot in the kitchen are being fried excitedly, there are many problems faced as well. The drainage system in our city isn't exactly great. The roads are filled with water and thus are blocked. There are people falling into open gutters and trees falling over. There is no electricity and the phone signals aren't good either. People making their way to urgent meetings or classes end up being late or not going at all. It does sort of create a chaos in the city. I think it really is time that the people responsible for the drainage system start attending to their duties.
